10 Trends of Autumn And Winter 2019/20 From Paris Fashion Week

The French were the most pragmatic and showed collections that quickly adapt to our everyday life. We tell you that fashion capital offers us the most exciting things and which accessories will best compliment our autumn-winter wardrobe.

The most unusual event of the last fashion week in Paris, of course, was the show of Chanel with the new creative director Virginie Villard, who previously performed the duties of the right hand of deceased Karl Lagerfeld. On the catwalk, the brand presented the latest (and undoubtedly the most iconic) collection developed by the fashion designer, who passed away on February 19th.

Despite the sad end of the season, the fashion marathon was smooth and without a hitch. The French week turned out to be practical, “wearable” and graceful – the global return of canonical elegance, which finally superseded the hypertrophic hoody and ugly-sneakers. There are many directions, as always – we are sharing ten main trends from the French capital that you should pay attention to right now.

Lava nuance

We will dance on a volcano in the new season. This is the element, the perfect color combinations for the autumn and winter of 2019. Trend’s setter was Dries van Noten, who showed a shortened fur coat and several fur bags in lava shades. Blood red, turning into fiery red and blinding yellow – you must admit, it looks fascinating.

Violet

Ultraviolet, which was the color of 2018 according to Pantone, is too early to dismiss: no matter what the Institute’s experts say and no matter how attractive the new hero of the year is “living coral,” and monochrome images of vibrant purple color always look beautiful, bright and advantageous. The trendiest combinations of the season are experiments with a combination of shades of one palette, but of different saturation: we combine violet, lavender, blackberry, and amethyst in one image.

Bucket hat

A funny fashionable coincidence occurred among former colleagues of the brand Pierpaolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Curie: both Italian designers showed similar styles of headgear, which people often call “bucket hats” – a peculiar hybrid of our usual Panama, but with an increased crown. The trendiest combinations with romantic dresses are watched from Valentino, and retro models, resembling a cloche, should be looked for from Nina Ricci.

Neck-handkerchiefs

Designers often borrow trends from the streets: such a fate overtook kerchiefs – an accessory that is familiar to everyone since childhood. Even though such devotees loved both Grace Kelly and Jackie Kennedy, the new wave of popularity overtook the headscarf thanks to rappers – A $ AP Rocky tried on a headdress even on the carpet. Now on Paris catwalks, you can find silk kerchiefs with a bright print or monochromatic suede and leather – choose for your taste.

Fur imitating natural

There are always a lot of fur coats showed in the autumn-winter season. In the future, one of the most relevant will be a coat made of fur, completely resembling natural. Although the fashion industry is actively rejecting real sables and minks, ultrafashionable eco-versions look quite natural – even the main fighter for the salvation of the environment, Stella McCartney, has shown, whose firm eco-position is beyond doubt. Landmarks for the new season are looking for in the movie “Survivor” and the image of Leonardo DiCaprio. A huge, warm and slightly awkward fur coat will save us in the cold and will quickly replace the frost-resistant down jacket-blanket.

Photoprint

Pierpaolo Piccioli and his creative team mastered the art of collaging in the new season – in the Valentino collection we are looking for fantasy prints created from floral patterns and images of sculptures. Psychedelic was carried away in Maison Margiela, and colorful watercolor scenes can be found at the new creative director Lanvin Bruno Sialelli.

Big shoulders

Seasonal metamorphosis most often refers to precisely the shoulder lines: in recent years, designers have worked exclusively to increase them, actively inspired by the 80s. In the new season, the shoulders are, instead, not sloping, but acute-angle and hard, going beyond all possible ideas about hyper-volumes. These variants of jackets and coats showed Saint Laurent, Acne Studios and Balmain, and Claire White Keller in Givenchy goes the other way and makes a decorative line along the shoulder line to emphasize their scale once again.

Chessboard

Different in scale and palette variations of checkered prints, designers show us at all fashion weeks without exception (there is no chance that plaid will leave the runways). This time, the brands sang in unison about their love for the achromatic chess cage – Maria Grazia Curie showed this in various manifestations for Dior, and Virgil Ablo placed the players’ battlefield right on the huge blown down jacket.

Tall boots

Here, brands offer us the broadest range of options: what your perfect long boots will be for the new season – fitting patent leather boots or colored pipe boots – does not matter. Besides, you can combine them with mini-skirts, and tuck voluminous trousers into boots with an open boot top.

Gloves

Another vintage accessory and the undeniable trend of the new season are long gloves made of matte or patent leather, which may well become the focus in your image. We combine with silk handkerchiefs, like such icons of the 20th century did as Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, and Grace Kelly, or we steam an accessory and wear only one glove, as sometimes does Melania Trump.
